A few more words about the Basic collection
When we began our production of designer Murano glass, we asked ourselves the question: is Murano glass only good as furniture, or can it have a practical and functional use in everyday life?
Beyond the classic production of the “goto”, which in reality has an origin that is anything but design (the “goto” was the glass produced in a simple way by the master glassmaker with the remains of the molten glass. In the furnace he made – and It’s very hot, so the workers had to drink a lot. Each master built his “goto” with the remains of molten glass, therefore also murrine, canes, filigree, etc. and gave it a blow on the side as a unique sign of recognition therefore represents a sort of “poor art”), there are no productions of practical objects.
This is how we came up with the idea of producing plates and bowls for everyday use, or perhaps in particular situations.
The production of the dish requires particular preparations: first of all they must be very similar to each other, in shape but above all in color, especially in color because they are part of a set of at least 6 pieces.
This is how we thought of “Basic”, our Murano Glass Table line.
From the photo you can notice the extreme elegance and sobriety of the pieces, which make this line the best-selling.
